This article provides instructions on how to import Diploma files to Blackboard Learn 9.1 and CourseSites. After exporting an Exam file or Chapter file to "Blackboard LS 7, 8, and 9", users will need to import the content to Blackboard Learn or Course Sites.
Blackboard Learn has import options for either uploading a pre-created test, survey, or pool. If the instructor exported from an Exam file, then that file is imported as a Test in Blackboard. Alternatively if you would like to upload all of the question bank content or certain chapters to Blackboard and then pull questions in Blackboard for future exams, tests, or quizzes you would import to a question Pool in Blackboard.
How to export out an EXAM file that you created in Diploma:
Open the Exam file
In the Exam Window
Choose "Blackboard LS 7, 8, and 9"
Change any exporting preferences and destination directory to save the exported file to now
Importing the EXAM to Blackboard Learn 9 and 9.1 or CourseSites:
Follow the directions in the link below. Use the "Test" option when importing.
How to export out a Question Bank or Chapter file in Diploma:
Open the question bank to be exported
Click on File
Click on Export
Choose "Blackboard LS 7, 8 and 9"
The export options menu opens.
You have three options depending on what you want content you want:
If the instructor only needs to export out a single chapter, say Chapter 1, use the top Export option and select the chapter from the pull down menu.
** If the instructor needs to export out several chapters, but they do not want to import all chapters to Blackboard, use the second option. "Export all the files in the question bank into separate files". This means you will have a zip file for each chapter in the questions bank. (Please read below for further instructions on unlocking this feature).
** If the instructor needs to export out the entire question bank choose to "Export all files in the question bank into one combined file" and put a check next to "Put all resources into a single folder". (Please read below for further instructions on unlocking this feature).
Choose a destination folder that you can locate easily

Importing the Question Bank or Chapter File to Blackboard Learn 9 and 9.1 or CourseSites:Follow the directions in the link below. Use the "Pools" option when importing.
Parse errors seen after importing to Blackboard frequently result from importing an Exam to a Pool or a Question Bank/Chapter to a Test in Blackboard. If you are getting a parse error, first check that you have exported out correctly to the "Blackboard LS 7, 8 and 9" format. Then try importing your file as a Test if you tried Pool before or vice versa.
