Steps to Replicate:

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an administrator
  2. Access a course
  3. Create a calculated formula question
  4. Under step 1 'Write the question text', enter: The answer is [long] + 1. Under 'Enter the answer formula', enter: long+1
  5. Click on Next
  6. Under rounding, choose 'Significant figures' and enter "3", Under Variable ranges, enter 10.0 for 'Minimum', 98.9 for 'Maximum' and 1 for 'Decimal places'
  7. Click on Next
  8. Click on Back, then Back again
  9. Under step 1 'Write the question text', change the text to: The answer is [short] + 1. Under 'Enter the answer formula' change the text to: short+1
  10. Click on Next
  11. Under Variable ranges, enter 10.0 for 'Minimum', 98.9 for 'Maximum' and 1 for 'Decimal places'

Observed Behavior:
The calculation keeps loading and never produces an answer.

The system should be able to calculate the answers correctly.
