Steps to Replicate:

  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as System Administrator
  2. Enter any Original Course or create a new one and enter it
  3. Quick Enroll as Instructor > Go to Course Content > Deploy a new Test (Assessments > Test > Create) with at least one question added and the following settings:
    • Make available to students > Yes
    • Multiple Attempts > Allow Unlimited Attempts
    • Due Date > Set it to something valid and not in the past like the end of the current day
  4. Submit
  5. Click on the deployed Test
    • Note:  You can access it without issue and load the Test as a Student would
  6. Edit the existing Test Options and change the Due Date to something expired and in the past
  7. Submit
  8. Click on the deployed Test
    • Note:  You can access it without issue and load the Test as a Student would
  9. Edit the existing Test Options (leaving the Due Date in the past) > Check the option for Do not allow students to start the Test if the due date has passed  > Submit
  10. Click on the deployed Test

Expected Behavior:
The User can access the Test successfully after changing the setting outlined in Step 9.  The test is fully accessible, and this setting only applies to Students.

Observed Behavior:
The following error occurs:
This Test cannot be completed because the due date has passed." 

 


Resolution/Workaround: Use Student View or change the Due Date settings.
