Fill In the Blank Test Question Cannot Show Brackets

Description:
When creating a fill-in-the-blank question brackets are not possible in the question.
Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn Ultra Experience as an instructor or administrator
  2. Navigate to Courses
  3. Click on the Course
  4. Click on the plus sign (+) and 'Add Fill in the Blank question'
  5. In the question area type the following:
This is a \[test].  This is a [test]
 
  1. Click on Next Step and Save

Observed Behavior: 
The wrong “Blank” is added when trying to escape to show brackets in the actual question rather than just using the brackets to identify answer parts. (This does not work for math courses.)

Expected Behavior:
The question to be expressed as follows:
This is a [test].  This is a [Blank 1]
