Blackboard is pleased to announce the availability of an updated Collaborate Enterprise Building Block, version 4.8.1173191 for Blackboard Learn October 2014, version 4.9.1172513 for Blackboard Learn 9.1 Q4 2015 and version 2015.11.0 for SaaS.

Supported Platforms and Upgrade Paths
The October 2014 (4.8.1173191) and Learn 9.1 Q4 2015 (4.9.1172513) Building Blocks are available to Blackboard Learn Course Delivery clients who also license Blackboard Collaborate Enterprise or the Learning Essentials solutions bundle (or higher), and are on Blackboard Learn October 2014 Release (Build: 9.1.201410.160373) or Learn 9.1 Q4 2015 (Build: 9.1.201510.1171621).
Clients on the Standard SaaS platform have automatically received the updated Building Block with release 2015.11.0.
Direct upgrades to these releases are supported from Building Block versions 4.3 or greater. Clients on older versions of the Building Block will need to upgrade to 4.3 minimally before installing this update.
AvailabilityThe Building Blocks for Learn 9.1 Q4 2015 and October 2014 were published to Software Updates on April 4, 2016 at 12:30 PM EST and will be available to Learn servers within 24 hours of this publication.
Building Block Download and Documentation
Clients running the Blackboard Learn October 2014 Release or the 9.1 Q4 2015 Release will be notified of the 4.8.1173191 or the 4.9.1172513 Building Block availability via the Software Updates module on the Administrator Panel. Administrators can choose to install the Building Block from that interface. The Software Updates notification will occur within 24 hours of this announcement publication.
Please note that after updating any Building Block, services will need to be restarted on each server in the environment in a rolling fashion.
Managed Hosting Clients
Managed Hosting clients should create a case on Behind the Blackboard to schedule the recommended server restarts after Building Blocks are updated. To expedite the scheduling process, please include a desired day and time for the restarts to begin.
