Announcement Details:

Blackboard is pleased to announce the availability of Hotfix 155 for Analytics for Learn that addresses performance issue in processing of Course and Student dimension.  This hotfix applies to Analytics for Learn versions 4.3.2 through 4.3.3.

ISSUE RESOLVED

This hotfix moves the translation logic from transform view of Course and Student dimension to source helper which loads the new prestage table with all translations used in affected dimensions to appropriate language set up in HEA.GLOBAL. Transform views then only use these translations instead of calling translation function repetitively and therefore severely affecting performance by breaking the execution plan.

HOTFIX PROCESS

  1. Execute the script in the SQL hotfix file corresponding to your product version in SQL Server Management Studio on the Analytics for Learn database (iBBLA).

HOTFIX VERIFICATION

After application of this hotfix processing time of affected dimensions should be significantly lower.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Appropriate knowledge of SQL Server to apply the hotfix script

AVAILABILITY

The hotfix was made available on April 11, 2017.
