Past Due Notifications Received for On-Time Student Submissions

Description:
Students are receiving "Past Due" notification when submitting assignments on time.
Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as Instructor
  2. Set up a Test Course with Assignments and Test Students 
  3. Log in as Test Students and attempt Assignment(s)
  4. Log in as Instructor
  5. Search for a Test Student on the Grade Center
  6. Check Assignment for the user
  7. Note that there was an attempt on [Date/Timestamp]
Observed Behavior:
The user receives a 'past due' notification the next day.
  1. Log into the Blackboard Learn as System Administrator
  2. Navigate to System Admin > Courses > Create a New Course (original view)
  3. Go to System Admin > Users > Create two users with email addresses > Enroll 1 Student user and 1 Instructor user
  4. Log in as the instructor and access the course
  5. Create a new assignment
  6. Set Due Date and leave as default date (today) > Uncheck Make Available so the assignment is not visible to the student > Submit
  7. Edit the Assignment's settings and adjust the due date and make it Available
  8. Log in as the Student user
  9. Go to Profile
  10. Navigate to Global Notification Settings > Select Email Notifications
  11. Select Email Me Right Away > Select all items > Save
  12. Access the Course
  13. Submit the assignment before the due date
  14. Verify that the user received a 'Submission Received' email
  15. Let the Due Date/Time pass > Check the user's email
Observed Behavior:
The Student user receives an 'Overdue' email notification and a 'New Late Submission' email notification.

Expected Behavior:
The Student user receives a 'Submission Received'
