The line spacing displayed in the VTBE while editing a content item does not match the displayed text of the content item. The line spacing in the VTBE is double spaced text, and in the content item the text is single spaced.
Steps to Repeat:
  1. Log into Blackboard Learn as Instructor
  2. Enter Course content area
  3. Create an Item
  4. In the content editor, type a line of text, hit enter, and type more text
  5. Note the space between the two lines
  6. Click on HTML to note the paragraph tags that were added
  7. Click Submit
Expected Behavior:
The item text appears in the content editor view with space between the lines.

Observed Behavior:
The item text has no space between the lines.

There is a workaround available for this issue that requires a new theme to be created with the following adjustments:
First, download the theme through either the system admin > brands and themes > customize default brand page (it has a download for the current theme) or through system admin > brands and themes > Theme and Palette Catalog > click the action button/chevron next to the theme you want to download and click download. Then unzip this file and it will contain a plugins and a core folder (these two folders are what needed to be used to create the .zip file in the last step below).

  1. Create a mods.css file add this to your theme
  2. Add the mods.css file to the "core" folder
  3. Open and modify theme.css and add at the bottom of the file

/*File for modifications and css additions*/
@import url("mods.css");

       4. Create mods.css file and add the code below

/*VTBE spacing workaround*/
.vtbegenerated p {
margin-bottom: 1em!important;

      5. Save file then zip and install theme
