**Message for Blackboard Learn clients using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra with the Blackboard Collaborate "Original" building block**

The Blackboard Collaborate building block when enabled for Collaborate Ultra uses SOAP API calls from Collaborate Original SAS. As we phase out Blackboard Collaborate Original and SAS the SOAP calls for Collaborate Ultra will no longer work on May 1, 2020 for ALL regions.

Clients should switch to the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra building block as soon as they are able.

FAQ:

Q: How do I check to see if I am using the Blackboard Collaborate building block with Collaborate Ultra?
A: Login to Blackboard Learn as a System Administrator > Click on the System Administrator tab > Click on Building Blocks > Click on Installed Tools > Mouse Hover over "Blackboard Collaborate" then click the down arrow and choose Settings > Click on Set Availability for Courses. If you see that Ultra selected you need to switch to the Collaborate Ultra building block. If Manual is chosen, more than likely you have at least some courses using Collaborate Ultra. Please open a Behind the Blackboard Support Case for help if you are not sure.

Q: Do I need new credentials for setting up the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra building block?
A: Yes! Please have a Collaborate Admin open a Behind the Blackboard support case to request the new credentials.

Q: Will the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra building block work at the same time as the Blackboard Collaborate building block?
A: Yes! The two building blocks function independently of each other.

Q: Will the recordings move to the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra building block?
A: No, but the recordings are not lost either: Q: Where can I find more information on the Blackboard Collaborate building blocks?
A: https://help.blackboard.com/Collaborate/Ultra/Administrator/Integrations/Collaborate_in_Blackboard_Learn_9.1

Q: Will Collaborate Original continue to work on the Blackboard Collaborate building block?
A: Collaborate Original will continue to work until your hosting region is phased out.
